Biography

‘In Too Deep’ RECORD OF THE WEEK BBC Introducing 12th March 2022

NNAOMI’s 2nd release on Mayfield Records with ‘Like Me’ receiving previous BBC Introducing airplay. NNAOMI is a 22-year-old new and upcoming R&B/Alternative R&B/Soul artist, known for her ability to capture raw human emotion in her songs. While being based and growing up in Portsmouth, NNAOMI fell in love with singing at a very young age and as a result decided to pursue it as a career in 2020.

NNAOMI’s new single ‘In Too Deep’ is open to interpretation, however it was written about how falling for people can cause you to feel anxious and also cause you to second guess yourself hence the lyrics “am I in too deep?” It embraces the feeling of falling in love with someone, at the same time acknowledges the little voice in your head that tells you, sometimes the “safer” option is running away from that feeling of vulnerability so that I won’t get hurt. In ‘In Too Deep ?’, NNAOMI portrays the mental battle of falling in love from an anxiously attached person’s point of view.
