Last year, the Mayfield Records House Band were invited to perform a LIVE session for BBC Radio. We were asked to perform 6 original songs and 1 cover. For the cover, we decided upon Rag’n’Bone Man’s ‘Human’. Although a contemporary pop record, we felt its roots were in Soul Music – so we added brass, organ and backing vocals as well as changing the time signature. The lead vocals were delivered by the incredible SOUL of Marlene Hill … this is the result!
